Lady Panthers remain undefeated in district play

The Whitharral Lady Panthers hosted the Meadow Lady Broncos this past Tuesday night for district play where the Lady Panthers won 61-24.

The first quarter of the game was Whitharral taking a eightpoint lead after their great freethrow shooting, getting them eight points with the score sitting at 10-2.

Whitharral didn’t slow down towards the halftime break as they scored another 21 points while holding Meadow to nine points, making the score 31-11.

Leading the Lady Panthers in scoring at the half was Paige Smith with 15 points, five of them from the charity stripe.

Coming out of the break, Whitharral outscored Meadow 16-6 to extend their lead by another 10 points, heading into the fourth quarter.

For the last quarter of the game, Meadow tried their hardest to try to stay into the game but eventually fell after being outscored once more, this time 14-7 in the last quarter, giving the district win to Whitharral 61-24.

Two Whitharral Lady Panthers finished in double digit points with Smith having 24 points and Rylee Kristinek with 15 points. Both Madi Chavez and Sheridan Neal had nine points a piece and Valeria Frias finished with four points in the game.

The Whitharral Lady Panthers progress to 16-7 on the season and remain undefeated in district play with a perfect 4-0 record. The Lady Panthers next game is against the Wellman Union Wildcats this Friday on the road at 6 p.m. after they played against the Cotton Center Lady Elks this past Tuesday on the road.
