Lady Panthers rout Meadow Lady Broncos in district

The Whitharral Lady Panthers took on the Meadow Lady Broncos for district play where the Lady Panthers won 4627.

At the start of the game in the first quarter, Whitharral was able to outscore Meadow 15-8 to take the lead going into the second quarter.

For the second quarter of play, the Lady Panthers defense was playing good as they only allowed Meadow to get six points, while they put up another 10 of their own to make the score 25-14, going into the halftime break.

Leading the Lady Panthers in scoring at the break was Paige Smith with 15 points, nine of them in the first quarter.

Out of the break it was a low scoring game as Whitharral won the third quarter 13-2, almost holding the Lady Broncos scoreless going into the fourth quarter of play.

For the final quarter of the game, Whitharral was finally outscored 11-8, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the lead as Whitharral took the win to remain undefeated in district play and be one step closer to district champs. Smith led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 27 on the night. Rylee Kristinek added another 10 points, Sheridan Neal had five and both Denae Sansom and Valeria Frias both finished with two points a piece on the night.

The Whitharral Lady Panthers progress to 21-7 on the season while remaining undefeated in district play with a perfect 9-0 record. The Lady Panthers last game of district play was against Anton this past Tuesday night at home as they get ready for their first play off game of the season being against the Klondike Lady Cougars this upcoming Monday night at Tahoka High School at 7:30 p.m.
