Levelland falls to Seminole on the road

The Levelland Lobos went on the road to take on the Seminole Indians for the teams last non-district game of the season where they fell 59-38.

The first quarter of the game started off well for Levelland as they were able to outscore the Indians 10-to-8 in the first and take a close lead going into the second quarter of play.

For the start of the second quarter though, the momentum was completely flipped around as the Indians found their rhythm on offense and they were able to outscore Levelland 19-to-4 and take the big 27-14 lead going into the halftime break.

The third quarter was more of the same from the second as Seminole would not let up and would put up another 11 points while holding Levelland to just 10 in the third.

For the final quarter of play Levelland would not be able to find their magic from the first quarter as they were outscored in the final quarter 21-to-14.

The score at the end of the game was Seminole topping Levelland 59-38 after a good first quarter for the Lobos.

Leading the Lobos in scoring was Jaden Castillo as he would finish with 15 points on the night.

Eryk Jones had another 10 to add on to that, Sean Landrum had another five, Ethan Salazar had three, two Lobos would finish with two points in Ozzie Solano and Elijah Jordan and Travion Holland would finish with one point on the night.

Levelland’s shooting percentages were on par with the Indians as the Lobos were able to shoot for 39% from the field while going 19% from deep. The team also shot for 69% from the free throw line going 11-for-16 on the night.

The turnover battle was very similar as Levelland was able to force 23 turnovers on the night while giving the ball up another 24 times just barely losing to Seminole in the turnover battle.

The Levelland Lobos fall to 9-14 on the season before they start district play this Friday.

The Lobos will face the Sweetwater Mustangs this Friday for their district opener on the road at 7:30 p.m.
