The Levelland Lobos went on the road to take on the Big Spring Steers this past Tuesday where they won 56-37.
The first quarter of the game started off with the Lobos trailing the game early with the score sitting at 11-to-9.
For the second quarter of play the Lobos trailed most of the quarter until late in the second quarter where they were able to take the lead for the rest of the second quarter and go into the halftime break with the six point lead.
The score at the end of the half was Levelland leading Big Springs 22-16.
Going into the third quarter of play the Lobos would once again outscore the Steers 22-to-10 to extend their lead to 44-26 heading into the final quarter of play.
For the final quarter of play Levelland would ease off the gas as they were able to get 12 more points to fall for them in the end while still holding the Steers to only 11 points at the end of the game.
Leading the Lobos in scoring was Jaden Castillo as he had 22 points in the game.
Eryk Jones had another 14 points on the night, Sean Landrum had 10, Travion Holland had six, Ozzie Solano had three and Jeffery Cisneros put one in the basket in the teams win.
The Lobos shot the ball for 47% from the field while going for 36% from long range against the Steers. They also shot for 60% from the free throw line hitting six of the 10 they attempted throughout the night.
Both teams struggled to hold onto the ball as both were able to force 15 turnovers thoughout the night in district play.
Levelland wouldn’t win in the rebound category barely as they were outdone 37-to-35 on the boards.
The Levelland Lobos progress to 11-16 throughout the year and break even in district play sitting at 2-2.
The Lobos next opponent they will play is the Sweetwater Mustangs this Tuesday at home at 7:30 p.m.
