Levelland handles Sweetwater at home

The Levelland Loboettes made easy work out of the Sweetwater Lady Mustangs, Tuesday winning the game in four sets. The team won with scores of 25-16, 25-23, 21-25 and 26-24 to improve their record to 18-17.

The Loboettes started off hot as they won the first set of the game due to their amazing defense sending back shots and not letting the Lady Mustangs get comfortable.

Levelland was able to get rolling early as they had six different Loboettes get kills in the first set. They also had a five point service run from Addison Campbell that would help the team take the lead early in the game and set the Loboettes with a comfortable win early.

The second set almost got out of hand as the Loboettes had let Sweetwater take a early 8-2 lead on them before they were able to settle in. They were able to come back and win the set in a close one by just two points, but they were still in charge throughout the game having a 2-0 lead in the game.

The third set is where Levelland would have trouble and eventually drop the game due to some minor mistakes and miscues that the team would fix in the next set.

The final set of the game, the Loboettes were able to put the game away as they got in another close game as they were at one point in the game down 24-22, thankfully they were able to score six straight points to put the game away and improve to 5-1 in district play.

Taylyn Ladesma and Campbell were able to get 10 kills each while Trinity Wafer and Mia Morin both had eight kills each. Tanaesia Brackens led the team in kills having seven, while teammates Allison Monge and Hailee Estrada both earned one kill each. Both Brackens and Wafer were able to get a block each.

Ladesma went 18-18 in service with nine points and Aubree Gaona went 18-20 from the service line while having 12 points and four aces on the night. Mykka Bihl went 14-14 with an ace and eight points on the night, while teammates Maddie Stafford and Campbell had seven points and an ace each.

The Loboettes progress to 18-17 on the season and 5-1 in district play. The Loboettes faced off against the Estacado Lady Mats who they beat in their last meet-up in Levelland.

The Lady Mats went into the game with a record of 8-23 on the season with a district record of 24. Their only wins coming off of Lake View who they beat twice in close games 3-2 both times.
