Levelland Loboettes sweep Big Spring

The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Big Spring Lady Steers this past Tuesday night for their district matchup where the Loboettes swept the Lady Steers in three straight sets.

The first set of the game was all Levelland as they won the set 25-12, taking a strong 1-0 lead on the game with little resistance.

The second set of the game was more of the same story as they won in another wide margin, this time 25-15 taking a 2-0 lead over Big Spring.

The final set of the game was the closest of the night as both teams kept it close, but it was all for nothing as Levelland won the final set 25-21 to take their third district win of the season.

The Loboettes did well serving the ball as the team had 10 aces on the night with Aubree Gaona, Alexis Gardea and Mia Morin all having two aces a piece. Gabby Pesqueda, Addison Campbell, Danica Rivera and Hailiee Estrada all had one ace each in the team’s contest.

Levelland outdid the Lady Steers in the kill category as they had 27 to Big Springs 17. Leading the Loboettes in kills was Campbell as she had eight kills. Mia Sepulbeda had seven, Trinity Wafer had five, Estrada had four, Morin had one and Allison Monge had one.

The Loboettes had three blocks on the night with one coming from Estrada, Wafer and Campbell on the night.

The Levelland Loboettes progress to 16-16 on the season as they get ready to take on the San Angelo Lake View Maidens this Tuesday on the road at 6 p.m. Lake View is going into the game against the Loboettes with a record of 0-14 coming off of a loss to the Snyder Tigers.
