The Levelland Loboettes had a bounce back win against the Big Spring Lady Steers this past Friday night on the road, 75-25 after taking their second loss to the Lady Patriots last Tuesday night.
The first quarter of the game had Levelland taking a six-point lead, after outscoring Big Spring 18-12.
The second quarter was more of the same story as the Loboettes defense came to life, holding the Lady Steers to just three points while Levelland put another 11 points of their own, making the score 29-15 going into the halftime break.
The second half of the game was all Levelland after a slow start to the game as in the third quarter of the contest, Levelland was able to bump it up a notch and extend their lead after outscoring Big Spring 26-10, making the score 5525.
For the final quarter of the game, the Loboettes completely dominated the Lady Steers as they held them scoreless to end the game while they scored another 20 points, to take the big district win and complete the series sweep on the Lady Steers.
Leading the Loboettes in scoring was Emery Smith with 19 points on the night. Presley Smith had another 13 points, Leilani Sanchez had 11, Kaylee Penner had 10, Brooklyn Cornish had seven, Destynii Jones and Sydnii Joyce both had four points a piece, Emily Perez had three and both Mia Morin and Trinity Wafer finished with two points a piece.
The Loboettes shot the ball for 33% from the field, 34% from behind the arch and 57% from the free-throw line during the team’s contest.
Levelland outdid Big Spring on the boards as they were able to pull down 40 and the Lady Steers were able to pull down 26 in their contest.
The Levelland Loboettes progress to 24-6 on the season and go up to 7-2 in district play with their last district game being last night at home against the Snyder Lady Tigers for Senior Night.
