The Levelland Lobos hosted the Sundown Roughnecks for their last non-district matchup before district play where the Lobos beat Sundown 79-39, at home.
At the start of the game Levelland took control fast as they outscored Sundown 23-13 in a high scoring game.
In the second quarter it was more of the same story as Levelland scored 19 points while holding the Roughnecks to only 10 to make the score 42-23 going into the halftime break.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Lobos came out on fire as they scored another 21 points while holding Sundown to six points, making the score 63-29 going into the fourth quarter of action.
For the final quarter of the game Levelland outscored the Roughnecks 16-10 to take the win before district play with the score at 79-39.
Eryk Jones led the Levelland Lobos in scoring with 15 points on the night. Sean Landrum and Bryson Golightly both had 14 points a piece, Anthony Gonzalez had nine, Nehemiah Sanchez had seven, Jose Muro had six, Gavin French and Ozzie Solano both had three points a piece and Graham Gibbs, Ethan Salazar, Noah Martin and Eli Randol all had two points a piece in their teams win.
Leading the Roughnecks in scoring was Adan Escamilla with eight points. Kye Powell and Josh Hogan both had six points a piece, Isiah Igo and Isaac Lopez both had five points, Briar Miller had three points and Nathan Flores, Nathan McAdams and Brock Buffe all finished with two points a piece.
Levelland shot the ball for 47% from the field while going 73% from the free-throw line against the Roughnecks.
For Sundown they shot the ball for 25% from the field while going 53% from the charity stripe.
Levelland won the rebounding battle 42-31 while also winning the turnover battle 25-19 against the Roughnecks.
Levelland progresses to 1212 on the season as they get ready to take on the Lubbock Cooper Libery Pirates this Friday on the road at 7:30 p.m.
For the Sundown Roughnecks the fall to 4-9 on the season as they get ready to take on the Morton Indians this Friday at home at 7:30 p.m.
