Levelland Lobos rout Snyder Tigers

The Levelland Lobos took on the Snyder Tigers this past Friday night on the road where they won 47-40.

The first quarter started off very slow as both teams were having a hard time finding the bottom of the net in the first four minutes of the game. Levelland eventually outscored Snyder 11-8 in the first quarter.

The second quarter was all Levelland though as they were able to outscore the Tigers 17-5, taking a commanding 28-13 lead.

Coming out of the third quarter, the Lobos were outscored 13-8, holding onto their lead that they built up in the first half.

The fourth quarter was more of the same story as the Tigers were able to score 14, while holding the Lobos to 11, able to outscore Levelland but the Lobos were able to hold onto the lead and take the district win.

Three Lobos finished in double digits on the night with Eryk Jones leading the pack with 17 points, Nehemiah Sanchez had 13 and Sean Landrum with 10. Bryson Golightly, Jose Muro and Eli Randol all finished with two points a piece and Graham Gibbs finished with one point.

Levelland shot the ball for 57% from the field while going 17% from behind the three-point line. The Lobos shot for 56% from the charity stripe.

The Levelland Lobos progress to 14-14 on the season and move up to 2-1 in district play sitting in second place in district. The Lobos next game of district play is against the Estacado Matadors this Friday on the road at 7:30 p.m.
