The Levelland Lobos and Loboettes competed at the Littlefield Cross Country Invitational Sept. 9.
On the Varsity Boys side of the running the team took first place of the tournament out of nine teams that showed up. The boys entire team didnt finish outside of the top 21 places out of 67. The team earned first with a score of 37 with New Deal being the closest team to them with a score of 51.
Individuals Ryan Jeannert, Saul Hernandez and Ben Childers finished within the top 10 of the meet as Ryan made third place, Saul made fourth and Ben made it to seventh place. Other members of the team Zaden Cirrillo made 11th place, Kaiden Medina made 12th place and Angel Miranda made 13th place all back to back for the team. Anson McMahan was the final Lobo to cross for the team and he was still 21st place to help the team secure first place in the Invitational.
For the Varsity Girls it was more of the same story as the team was able to secure third place throughout the whole meet with a score of 84.
Individuals Evelyn Mendias and Avani Lopez were the Loboettes that finished inside the top 10 of the meet with Evelyn finishing in fifth place and Avani finishing in ninth place. Other Loboettes Emily Ramirez, Betty Torrez, Alanis Valderas, Emily Medina, Tea Johnson. Georgia McMahan and Kaydence Escarcega helped the team finish in third place.
The team did amazing at the tournament and ran again at the Lubbock Invitational at Mae Simmons Park this past Saturday where they competed against some of the top teams in the area.
