Loboette Softball sweep Lady Matadors

    The Levelland Loboettes traveled to Lubbock to take on the Estacado Lady Mats in UIL District Softball Action where the Loboettes won 12-2.

    In the top of the first inning, Levelland was the first team on the board after Aubriana Rivas singled, Madison Seat tripled and Delaney Delgado singled, each scoring one run, making the score 3-0 early.

    Levelland was able to add onto their lead in the top of the second inning after Angelica Gonzalez doubled, Saydi Mendez scored after tagging up and Rivas singled, each scoring one run, extending their lead to 6-0.

    Estacado was able to get two runs in the bottom of the second to get on the board after one batter hit a double and the other hit a single to drive in two runners, making the score 6-2.

    In the top of the fourth inning, Levelland added two more runs on two hits after Adrianna Castellano hit a solo home run to center field and Jazlyn Diaz grounded out, scoring one run. The score sat at 8-2 towards the end.

    The Loboettes put the game away in the top of the sixth inning after they had four more runs on four hits. Gonzalez hit another solo home run to center field, Delgado singled, scoring two runs and Delgado scored after tagging up.

    Danica Rivera started the game for the Loboettes as she gave up four hits and two runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking none.

    Levelland was able to rack up 15 hits in the game. Rivas and Seat wre a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Loboettes, hitting back-to-back for the team. Delgado went 2-for-2 at the plate as the infielder led the team with three runs batted in. Gonzalez and Delylah Paredez each collected multiple hits for the Loboettes. Seat stole two bases throughout the game. Levelland were surehanded in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Seat had the most chances in the field with five.

    The Levelland Loboettes move up to 14-12 on the season while their district record goes up to 6-1, completing their sweep on Sweetwater and Estacado.

    The Loboettes faced off against the Lake View Maidens this past Friday at home and will get ready to face off against the Big Spring Lady Steers this upcoming Tuesdat at home at 5 p.m.
