The Levelland Loboettes hosted the San Angelo Lake View Maidens this past Friday for UIL District Softball play where the Loboettes run-ruled Lake View 17-0.
The Loboettes were the first team on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Angelica Gonzalez scored on error by their third baseman, Adrianna Castellano scored on the same error and Delaney Delgado hit a pop fly to right field to send in Madison Seat to make the score a quick 3-0.
Levelland was able to add to their lead early as they had two runs go for them in the bottom of the second inning after Gonzalez lined out, and Castellano walked, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the third inning Levelland was able to completely take control of the game as they scored eight runs on five hits. Jazlyn Diaz homered to left field, scoring two runs, Castellano drew a walk, scoring one run, Aubriana rivas doubled, scoring three runs and Delgado doubled, scoring two runs, making the score 13-0, Levelland still leading.
The Loboettes were able to get the rest of their four runs in the bottom of the second after Gonzalez hit a home run to score three and Rivas hit another solo home run to left field to make the final score 17-0.
Danica Rivera started the game for the Loboettes on the mound as she gave up six hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking none.
The Loboettes tallied 10 hits in the game. Delgado, Rivas and Diaz each collected two hits for Levelland. Castellano paced the Loboettes with three walks throughout the game. Overall the team had patience in the game as they had 10 walks. Gonzalez stole two bases as the team as a whole had four in their contest.
The Loboettes progress to 15-12 on the season as they go up to 7-1 in district play sitting in first place along with Snyder.
The Loboettes played against the Big Spring Lady Steers this past Tuesday at home and they get ready to play their last district game against the Snyder Lady Tigers this upcoming Friday as the visiting team at 5 p.m.
