The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Tuesday for UIL District Softball play where the Loboettes fell 8-4.
Snyder was the first team on the board after the batter hit a single to send in a runner giving the early lead to Snyder 1-0.
Afterwards in the top of the fifth inning their batter hit a grand slam with bases loaded to give the Lady Tigers a big 5-0 lead late in the game.
In the bottom of the sixth inning Levelland was able to get on the board as Aubriana Rivas and Madison Seat both hit singles to drive in two runners and make the socre 5-2 with Snyder still leading.
The Lady Tigers didn’t slow down offensively as they hit another home run with one runner on base driving in two runners to make the score 7-2 and hitting another single at the end of the inning to get one more run to make the score 8-2, Snyder still leading.
In the bottom of the seventh inning Levelland was able to get two more runs after Danica Rivera and Saydi Mendez scored on the same error making the score 8-4, giving the Lady Tigers the big district win.
Rivas started the game for the Loboettes as she gave up nine hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking five.
Levelland had 10 hits throughout the game. Madison Seat went 1-for-2 at the plate as the catcher led the team with one run batted in.
Mendez and Rivas each collected two hits for the Loboettes.
The Loboettes fall to 13-12 on the season while they take their first loss in district play going down to 3-1.
Levelland faced off against the Sweetwater Lady Mustangs this past Friday once more for district play at home.
