Loboettes drop four sets to Plains Cowgirls

The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Plains Cowgirls this past Tuesday night where the Loboettes fell in four sets after taking the first set 25-21.

To start of the game, the Loboettes were in control as they held the lead the entire set winning it narrowly by four points.

For the remainder of the game it was the Cowgirls that were fighting their way back against Levelland as the Loboettes held the lead in the second and third set but let it go from the offensive firepower by the Plains team.

Levelland did well from the service line as Mia Morin led the team with 19 attempts with no faults, earning 12 points with two aces.

Alexis Gardea and Aubree Gaona both picked up nine points each with Gardea having two aces and Danica Rivera leading the team with three aces along with six points.

The Loboettes led the game in the kill column as Addison Campbell led the team with eight, Trinity Wafer had seven, Hailiee Estrada had six, Morin had five, Mia Sepulbeda had three, Allison Monge had two and Gaona had one on the night.

Levelland also led the game in blocks as they had five throughout the night with Plains only tallying up one. Estrada had two in the game and Campbell, Morin and Wafer all had one a piece in the team’s loss.

The Levelland Loboettes fall to 4-10 on the season as they competed in the Denver City Tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Loboettes will be on the road against the Andrews Lady Mustangs on Tuesday with the game starting at 6 p.m.

The Andrews Lady Mustangs will be going into the game with a record of 11-6, coming off of a loss to the Denver City Fillies.
