Loboettes fall 3-1, against Midland Greenwood Rangerettes

The Levelland Loboettes went toe-to-toe with the Midland Greenwood Rangerettes at LCU Rip Griffin Center this past Tuesday, falling 3-1 in the match.

The Loboettes started off strong winning the first set of the game taking a 1-0 lead with a score of 25-21. The defense was superb during that set as the team was flying around and their communication and energy were off the charts as they looked like they came into the match ready to go. The team was feeding off the energy that the fans were giving, as the team looked unstoppable in the first set.

In the second set it seemed there was some miscommunication as the defense had more mistakes than they were used to, as the team lost the second set 25-22. The Loboettes continued to battle against Midland Greenwood, but in the end the team fell to them due to their shortcomings both on defense and offense.

The third set was more of the same on the Loboettes side of things with communication and energy fell off. Visibly tired, the Levelland found themselves having to battle against the Rangerettes and their conditioning as they are currently getting used to the varsity level in the beginning stages of the regular season.

The Loboettes dropped the final set losing 25-11 to the Rangerettes. The Loboettes record fell to 0-3 (via Maxpreps) as the Rangers record improved to 7-1. The Loboettes held their next matches in the Nita Vannoy Memorial Tournament in San Angelo, August 18-19 with the times yet to be determined. The JV Loboette teams were slated to play the same date as the Varsity in a Littlefield Tournament with the times yet to be determined as well for them.
