The Levelland Loboettes kicked off the Littlefield Tournament by playing the first game against the Olton Phillies where they took the first win of the tournament.
The game started off hot for the Loboettes as they were playing suffocating defense and able to take a commanding lead 20-5.
For the second quarter of the game it was more of the same story for the Loboettes as they would shut out Olton from scoring and go on a 14 point run to extend their lead making the score at the half 34-8 Leading the team in scoring at the half was Loboette Presley Smith with 14 points, all of them coming from in the paint.
Going into the third quarter Levelland would pour it on as they would outscore the Phillies 21-to-8 and carry their momentum going into the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter Levelland was able to keep the ball away from Olton and take their first win of the tournament 69-20.
Leading the team in scoring against the Olton Phillies was Presley Smith as she finished with 21 points.
Leilani Sanchez had 11 points, Mia Morin had 10, Olivia Velardez had eight, Kaydence Escarcega had six, Kaylee Penner havd five, Carly Tienda had four and Maddie Stafford finished with two.
Although the team shot for 0% from the free throw line, they were only at the line for one shot all game long. The girls were also shooting for 50 % against the Olton Phillies.
The team led in every category except for blocks when they had none throughout the game while Olton had five.
The Loboettes out did them on rebounds 31-to-24 and forced 17 more turnovers with 28 steals compared to the Phillies 11 in the day.
