The Levelland Loboettes faced off against the Wellington Skyrockers this past Tuesday as the away team where they narrowly won 37-32.
At the start of the game it looked like Levelland would have control of the game all night long as they were able to outscore the Skyrockets 12-3 in the first quarter.
In the second quarter it would be the Loboetttes once more but it would be a closer battle upfront as although they were able to outscore Wellington it wasnt by much. Levelland outscored them 10-to-8 and extending their lead at the half 2211.
The leading scorer at the half for the Loboettes would be Emery Smith who had six points with all of them coming from beyond the arch.
The third quarter was really close for both teams as it was a defensive battle and both teams held each other in check as Levelland would outscore the Skyrockets 7-to-6.
Going into the fourth quarter of the game Levelland would finally be outscored in the game 14-to-9 but it wouldnt be enough for Wellington as both Carly Tienda and Olivia Velardez were able to hit their free throws towards the end to keep the game out of reach.
The leading scorer for the Loboettes was Emery Smith as she ended in double digits with 11 on the night.
Tienda finished with seven for Levelland, Velardez had six, Mia Morin had four, Leilani Sanchez had three and three Loboettes finished with two points. Kaylee Penner, Tanaesia Brackens and Presley Smith all had two a piece.
The Loboettes progressed to 17-1 on the season as they start getting ready for district play to start.
Levelland faced off against the Odessa Lady Bronchos this Monday before the schools Christmas Break.
