The Levelland Loboettes hosted the Snyder Lady Tigers this past Tuesday for the team’s last district game of the season which was also senior night.
The Loboettes secured the tough 3-2 win.
The first set of the game started out with Levelland taking a 7-2 lead over Snyder, leading to the Lady Tigers calling a timeout to slow the momentum of the Loboettes.
The Lady Tigers called another timeout in the set after Levelland held a 16-10 lead over them still pushing their offense and taking over the game.
Later on in the game Levelland had to call a timeout, as they slowed on offense and was letting Snyder catch up, giving up the lead 23-22.
Coming out of the timeout, Levelland ended the set with four straight points to give them the set and win the first game.
In the second set Levelland had Snyder call another timeout as they took a 6-3 lead over the Lady Tigers.
Although they started off well they couldn’t keep it going as the Loboettes had to call their next timeout after giving up the lead 14-9. Snyder eventually won the second set 27-25 in the close game.
The third set was won by the Loboettes with the score of 25-19, the fourth set was won by the Snyder Lady Tigers 25-23 and the final set of the game was a very close back and forth contest, but eventually won by Levelland 1513.
The Loboettes had nine faults with seven aces on the night.
Danica Rivera had 18 points with two aces, Addisen Campbell had 10 points, Mia Morin had nine points, Alexis Gardea had eight points, Aubree Gaona had five points, Gabby Pesqueda had four points and Hailiee Estrada finished the game with two.
Both teams broke even in the kill category with 40 kills each and Snyder led the game with blocks beating out Levelland 7-3 in the contest.
Campbell led the Loboettes in kills with 15. Mia Sepulbeda had another eight, Estrada had six, Morin had four, Gaona and Trinity Wafer had three and Allison Monge had one. Wafer led the team with blocks with two and Campbell had one.
Levelland progresses to 2118 on the season while finishing 8-2 in district play placing second in the district.
The Loboettes will play their first round of playoffs on Monday, November 4, in Colorado City against the Graham Lady Steers.
