The Levelland Loboettes traveled to Lorena to participate in the Annual Vicki-Lauren Timmons Tournament where they girls went undefeated and won the tournament with four consecutive wins.
In the teams first game they faced off against the Normangee Lady Panthers where the team won in dominant fashion with a score of 71-34.
In the first quarter the Loboettes went into the game firing as they built themselves a big lead in just a short time, leading the Lady Panthers 26-8.
The second quarter was more of Levelland as they kept their offense rolling and their defense pressuring the Lady Panthers. The Loboettes outscored Normangee 16-6 and extended their lead 42-14.
The leading scorer for the team at the half was Emery Smith who had 14 points at the half with 12 of her points coming from behind the arch.
Going out of the break the game was decided as the Loboettes put the game to bed as they outscored the Lady Panthers in the second half 29-18 and taking the win 71-34.
The leading scorer for Levelland was Emery Smith who had 19 for the team.
Presley Smith had 15, Olivia Velardez and Carly Tienda both ended up with 11 points, Destynii Jones had four, Kaylee Penner had four, Marleah Ruiz had two, Maddie Stafford had two, Leilani Sanchez had two and Kaydence Escarcega finished with one.
Most of the Loboettes got in on the scoring action in their first win of the tournament as they had to get ready to go against the Troy Trojanettes.
In their second game of the tournament the girls won by an even larger margin, taking the game with a score of 74-8 holding the team under double digits.
It was complete dominance from the Loboettes as they held Troy to three points in the first half.
Going into the halftime break Levelland led Troy 50-3 from the great play of Presley Smith and Tienda.
The game was in complete control as the Loboettes put the game away and scored another 24 points coming out of the break compared to the Trojanettes five on the day.
The leading scorer for Levelland was Presley Smith who had 19 in their blowout win.
Stafford was able to put up another 12 for the team, Tienda had another 11, Escarcega had nine, Jones and Emery Smith had six a piece, Velardez had four, Ruiz, Sanchez and Morin had two each and Brackens had one.
Levelland out performed Troy in almost every category as they led in rebounds, assists and steals. The Loboettes went 40-to-28 on rebounds, 19-to-1 on assists and 23-to-6 on steals. The girls shot 42 percent from the court and 58 percent from the charity stripe throughout the game.
With the girls being two and oh in the tournament the girls would to on to face-off against the Columbus Lady Cardinals in the teams third game of the tournament to move on to the Championship game.
For the third game of the tournament it was a closer game for the Loboettes, but they were still able to force the win to go in their favor as they won 70-39 against the Lady Cardinals.
In the first half of the game the Loboettes was able to outscore the Lady Cardinals 2511 in the first and 12-8 in the second giving Levelland the lead with the score 37-19 at the half.
The leading scorer on the team at the halftime break for Levelland was Presley Smith who had 13 points with eight of them coming from the second quarter.
Going out of the break for Levelland it was more of the same story as they were able to outscore the Lady Cardinals in the second half 33-20 leading to their win, 70-39.
The leading scorer for the team was Presley Smith who had 18 in the game with nine of them coming from the second quarter.
Emery Smith had another 12 points for the teams win, Jones had nine, Velardez had eight, Ruiz had seven, Stafford had six, Morin had four, Sanchez had three, Tienda had two and Brackens had one.
The team led in every category once again except in blocks forcing 22 turnovers and grabbing 36 rebounds compared to their 27.
The girls shot 50 percent from the charity strip and 39 percent from the field goal including 23 percent from three.
The Loboettes went into the Championship game against the Lorena Lady Leapords for the final game of the tournament where they won 64-51 to go undefeated.
For the first time in the tournament the Loboettes found themselves trailing in the first quarter 10-9 from the Lady Leapords good pressure defense.
But going into the second quarter it seemed to wake up the Loboettes as they were able to put up 20 points in the second quarter compared to Lorena’s 12.
Going into the halftime break Levelland held a narrow lead on the Lady Leapords 29-22, which was the closest it had been all tournament.
Once the Loboettes gained the lead in the game though, they never looked back as in the second half of the game they were able to outscore Lorena 35-29 with most of their points going through the paint to Jones who had 10 of her points in the fourth quarter.
Levelland’s leading scorers on the night were Jones who had 14, while Tienda and Velardez would each earn themselves 13. Emery Smith had eight, Presley Smith and Sanchez each had six and another four from Ruiz.
The Loboettes progressed to 11-1 on the season with their next games coming up in a tournament in Wellington.
