The Levelland Lobos hosted the Estacado Matadors for their last district game of the season and on senior night where the Lobos lost 99-32.
In the first quarter it was rough for the Lobos as they were outscored 26-5, falling early in the game going into the second quarter.
For the second quarter it was more of the same story as the Lobos couldn’t find their rythme on offense and was outscored 299, going into the halftime break.
Out of the break, Levelland kept the third quarter close as they were outscored 17-9 and then outscored 27-9 in the final quarter of the game to take a loss on their last district game of the season.
Leading the Lobos in scoring on the night was Graham Gibbs with nine poitns. Eryk Jones and Sean Landrum both had five points a piece, Bryson Golightly had four points, Ozzie Solano had three and three Lobos in Nehemiah Sanchez, Eli Randol and Gage French all finished with two points a piece in their game.
Levelland shot the ball for 30% from the field while going 23% from long-range shots and 83% from the charity stripe.
The Lobos were outrebounded in the game 30-to-28 and lost the turnover battle as they gave the ball up 42 times throughout the night while forcing nine of their own from the Matadors. Levelland did out block the Mats 3-to-1 in their contest.
The Lobos fall to 16-19 on the season as they finish in fourth place of district play getting into the playoffs.
The Lobos will play against the Brock Eagles this Monday at Stamford High School for their Bi-District Round of playoffs at 6 p.m.
