The Levelland Lobos took on the Krum Bobcats this past Friday at Abilene Wylie High School for their UIL Boys Basketball area round of basketball playoffs where the Lobos lost 9558.
The start of the first quarter had Krum outscoring Levelland 24-6 at the end of the first. Krum was able to force turnovers early on and drive their way into the paint with ease as they had 20 of their points come from inside the paint.
For the second quarter of the game Levelland was able to get 17 points to fall for them, but still allowed the Bobcats to get 26 points to extend their lead to 27 at the half.
The score at the halftime break was Krum leading Levelland 50-23.
Leading the Lobos in scoring at the halftime break was Jayden Castillo who had eight points, six of them coming from inside the paint.
Going into the third quarter of the game Levelland had their best scoring output of the game with 23 points falling for them. Although it was their best scoring quarter Krum was still able to get 31 points in the third extending their lead by another seven points heading into the fourth quarter of the game.
For the final quarter of the game Levelland would be outscored 14-12 to end the game and their season.
Castillo would lead the Lobos in scoring at the end of the game with 19 points on the night.
Sean Landrum had another 12 points, Eryk Jones had 11 and four Lobos had three points a piece in Javier Ruiz, Ethan Salazar, Travion Holland and Graham Gibbs. Jose Muro added another two points and both Elijah Jordan and Anthony Gonzales had one point in the teams playoff loss.
Levelland finished off their season with a record of 18-18 in second place in district and Bi-District Champions under first year Head Basketball Coach Jordan Windholz’s season with the team.
