Lobos fall short against ranked Jaybirds, 56-44

    The Levelland Lobos hosted the #2 ranked Jayton Jaybirds at home where the team fell, 56-44.

    Both teams would go into the game on fire offensively as Levelland was able to get 11 while Jayton had 18 go for them.

    The second quarter for Levelland was great as the team was on fire and outscored Jayton 19-to-14 and cut their lead to two points.

    Out of the halftime break though it would be all Jayton as they would be able to hold the lead and get out of Levelland with a win.

    Jaden Castillo would lead the team in scoring with 22, Eryk Jones had 13, Ethan Salazar had four, Travion Holland had three and Anthony Gonzales finished with two.

    The Lobos fall to 7-10 on the season.

    Levelland’s next few games will be in the Littlefield tournament this Thursday through Saturday with their first game of the tournament going against the Hale Center Owls at 3 p.m., Thursday.
