Lobos pull off huge win on the road against undefeated SA Lakeview

The Levelland Lobos were on the road at San Angelo to take on the Lakeview Chiefs on Friday for week five of football. Lakeview sitting at four-and-oh would fall to the Lobos on their home field in a shootout for homecoming.

Both teams would not score on their first drive, but Levelland would find success on their second.

It would take the Lobos seven plays, but Noah Martin would find his way in for a seven yard touchdown run.

Lakeview would then march down the field on a 10 play drive scoring on a 10 yard pass from Christopher Alvizo to Bray Ion White, but Levelland again would strike.

Ethan Salazar would connect with Bryson Golightly from 61 yards out, the Lobos would lead with 28 second left in the first quarter by a touchdown, 14-to-seven.

Just one play into the second quarter Joshua Diaz would intercept a deep ball from Alvizo, and Levelland would cash in with a 40 yard touchdown pass from Salazar to Tobias Gavina.

At the halftime break Levelland would lead Lakeview 21-to-seven, but the Chiefs would bite back on their first drive in the second half.

Alvizo would march downfield with Lakeview and connect with Christopher Rodela for a one yard touchdown.

The Lobos would strike back on a seven yard touchdown run by Noah Martin.

Lobos would force a stop and march again as Jake Potter would run a touchdown in from six yards out.

With 2:40 left in the third Levelland would lead 33-to-13.

Lakeview would not go quiet, Izaiah Rios would run in a touchdown an 11 y ardrun.

They would score again with a drive starting in the third.

With 9:22 left in the fourth Alvizo would cap off a ten play drive with a six yard pass to White.

Those two would connect for a third time with an 11 yard pass.

The Lobos had one score in the fourth with a 47 yard touchdown pass from Salazar to Bryson Golightly, and Levelland would win the game 40-to-33.

Levelland would finish with a total run game of 279 yards, 222 yards through the air for a total offense of 501 with three passing touchdowns, and three rushing touchdowns.

The Lobos would finish with 10 penalties for 120 yards and even in the turnover category.

Lakeview would finish with 152 yards on the ground, 265 yards through the air for a total offense of 417 yards.

The Chiefs would finish with four penalties for 40 yards.

Levelland improves to three-and-two, and are back in action on Friday, October 4th as they are on the road to Snyder to take on the Tiger to wrap up non-district football.
