Morton Indians season ends in Lubbock

The Morton Indians took on the Ira Bulldogs this past Friday at Lubbock Christian High School in the Regional Finals where the Indian lost 11-1 after five innings.

The Indians were the first team on the board in the first inning after Cade Lyon hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run making the score 1-0 early for Morton.

The rest of the game was all Bulldogs, as they scored one run to respond in the bottom of the first inning with an inside the park homerun.

They added onto their lead in the third inning after scoring four runs, two more in the fourth and four in the fifth to win the game with the run-rule after five innings.

Lane Lyon started on the mound for the Indians as he gave up seven hits and 10 runs though four innings, striking out three and walking three in the game.

A.J. Mendoza appeared in relief for Morton as well as he gave up ont hit and one run in one inning, striking out one and walking one.

The Indians scored one run on the game with one hit as they committed six error throughout the game and left two on base.

The Morton Indians finish with a season record of 15-7 on the season as they finish off as Bi-District, Regional Quarter-Final and Regional Semi-Final Champs this season as they don’t graduate a senior this year.
