RHS slip to 1-1 after defeat Fri.

The Ropes Eagles traveled to Eunice, New Mexico to face the 2-0 Cardinals where they eventually fell, 48-6.

With both teams scoring early, Ropes’ Hayden Torres scored on a five-yard run with the team missing the extra point. The Cardinals held a 7-6 lead in the in the first quarter.

Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to keep up with the scoring of the Cardinals.

The Eagles run game was solid as they had 192 rushing yards in the game with Torres being responsible for 71 of those yards. Unlike the ground game, the Cardinals led in passing years with 226.

The Eagles offense had a hard time getting past the Eunice defense as Torres was responsible for three interceptions in the team loss.

Branson Simental had four tackles in the game and Branson Beck had four and three assisted tackles on the night.

The Eagles next game will be against Sudan as a home game where they will hope to improve their record and bounce back from their loss. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
