Ropes handles Smyer

The Smyer Bobcats couldn’t find and answer for the potent Ropes Eagle offense in an 89-26 home loss November 28th, in UIL High School Boys’ Basketball action.

Ropes blew out to a 29-2 lead in the first quarter and led 50-11 by halftime. The Eagles were up 68-18 at the end of the third quarter.

Rylan Smith led the Bobcats with 11 points. Gio Garcia, Ryann Gutierrez, Micah Zapata and Brayden Wade had three each. Mason Medart had two. Austin Martinez had a single free throw.

Five Eagles were in double figures. Kade Franklin led all scorers with 17 points. Bode Franklin, Branson Simental and Landon Nale had 13 each.

Reese Williams had 12. Brennan Bearden had seven. E.J. Mendez had six. Darren Kizer had five. Brady Bryan had three.

The Smyer Bobcats will host the Smyer Bobcat Invitational this weekend. The Ropes Eagles played the Sudan Hornets this past Tuesday at home.
