The Ropes Lady Eagles hosted the Post Lady Lopes this past Tuesday for district basketball play where the team won 64-14.
The first quarter of the game got out of control fast as Ropes would outscore Post 20-0 holding them scoreless going to the second quarter.
For the second quarter of play Ropes would be able to get another 21 points to fall for them while only allowing four points to be scored going into the halftime break.
The score at the end of the half was Ropes leading Post 44-4. Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring on the night was Campbell Latta who had 12 points, eight of them coming from inside the paint.
Going into the third quarter of play Ropes would slow down offensively as they only had 11 points, although it wasn’t as high scoring as their others the Lady Eagles defense still showed up holding Post scoreless once again in the third. The score heading into the fourth quarter was Ropes leading 52-4.
For the final quarter of play Ropes would put the game away as they outscored the Lady Lopes 12-10 taking the big district win to go in a four way tie with Sundown, Tahoka and Plains.
Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring for the night was both Latta and Aubrey Bandy as both finished with 12 points a piece.
Rylee McDaniel had another 11 points, Madi Reyna and Lacy Bloskas both finished with six points each, Delyla Stark and Bailey Turner both had five points a piece, Paige Luning had four and Bree Stumbo finished with three points in the teams win.
At the time of this writing the team will be in a play-in tournament in Brownfield against Sundown, Plains and Tahoka to see who makes the playoffs and whos out.
