Ropes Lady Eagles season ends in Denver City

The Ropes Lady Eagles took on the Wink Lady Cats this past Monday for their Bi-District round of playoffs where they fell just short 50-41 to end their season.

The start of the game had Ropes winning the first quarter 12-10, taking a small but early lead going into the second quarter.

For the second quarter though, the Wink offense came to life as they were able to take the lead adding 16 points while the Lady Eagles only had nine fall for them before the halftime break. The score sat at 26-21 going into the half.

Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring at the half were Delyla Stark, Rylie Lester and Madi Reyna all with six points a piece.

Out of the break, Ropes was able to win the third quarter of the game 13-11 to cut into the Wink lead and making the score 37-34, heading into the fourth quarter.

Although the game was close throughout with Ropes right on Wink’s tail, it wasn’t enough as Wink was able to outscore Ropes 13-7, taking the win from the Lady Eagles.

Leading the Lady Eagles in scoring on the night was Lester with 13 points. Reyna had another 12 points, Stark had 11 and Brooklyn Hogg finished with five points on the night.

The Ropes Lady Eagles end their season with a 21-13 record finishing fourth in their district with a 7-5 record. The Lady Eagles say farewell to Seniors Delyla Stark, Bailey Turner and Madison Reyna.
