Ropes starts District 1-0

The Ropes Eagles hosted the Seagraves Eagles for the teams district opener where they won 62-41.

In the first quarter of the game, Ropes started off flat footed as they found themselves trailing 13-11.

In the second quarter they were able to keep the game closer as it was a very defensive quarter and both teams were only able to put up eight points a piece.

Going into the halftime break the Ropes Eagles found themselves trailing 21-19.

Leading the team in scoring for the Ropes Eagles was Kade Franklin as he had eight points for the team, all of them coming from the paint.

Although the first half of the game wasn’t up to the Ropes Eagles standards it was a wake up call as in the third quarter they came out hot.

They were able to hold Seagraves to 11 points while putting up 22 of their own and taking the big lead.

The team didnt slow down their, they kept pouring it on as they were able to outscore Seagraves 21-to-9 in the fourth quarter.

Franklin was able to lead the team in scoring for the night with 16, six of them coming from the third quarter.

Branson Simental added another 14 points for the Eagles, Brennan Bearden had seven, Darren Kizer and Landon Nale both finished with six points a piece. Brady Bryan had four and three other Eagles finished the game with three including Bode Franklin and E.J. Mendez.

The Ropes Eagles handled Seagraves easily as they progress to 1-0 in district play and 14-2 on the season.

The team will travel to Tahoka January 2 for their second district game of the year at 8:00 P.M.
