The Sundown Roughettes had their hands full last Friday night playing against the New Home Lady Leopards where they lost on the road 54-31.
The first quarter of the game Sundown was only able to get four points to fall for them while they let up 11 points to the Lady Leopards long range game.
For the second quarter of the game it was more of the same story as this time the Roughettes were outscored 11-to-2 and trailing even more at the halftime break.
The score at the halftime break had Sundown trailing 22-6.
Leading the Roughettes in scoring at the half was Emily Rodgers, Kyndal Taggart and Aria Hogan who all had two points at the half.
Going into the third quarter of play Sundown found their gear as they were able to get 13 points scored in the third quarter while allowing another 19 points to be scored going into the fourth quarter.
For the final quarter of play Sundown would be outscored once more 13-to-12 and lose a hard game in district play.
Leading the team in scoring against New Home was Allie McCormick who had 10 points on the night and was the only one who finished in double digits.
Hogan finished with six points, Camry Jourden had five, Rodgers finished with four and Yaya Lopez, Hannah Holdman and Taggart all finished with two points a piece in the teams loss.
The Sundown Roughettes fall to 15-14 on the season while sitting at 5-5 in district play sitting in fifth place of the district.
The teams next game in district is against the Seagraves Eagles this Friday at home at 6:15 p.m.
