Roughneck baseball ends playoff campaign during bi-district round

The Sundown Roughnecks wrapped up their baseball season with a bi-district exit against the New Deal Lions this past weekend.

The Roughnecks would drop back-to-back games in a neutral site series in Littlefield. Sundown would cap off their season with an 11-12 record. The Roughnecks would fall in game one, 12-2.

Sundown would score two runs on seven hits, and would commit four errors, while New Deal would score 12 runs on 14 hits and would not commit an error.

Sundown’s Issac Lopez would throw the first four innings. Lopez would allow eight runs, seven earned on 11 hits, three strikeouts, and three walks. Landry Farrar threw for just one out in relief, while allowing four earned runs on three hits, and three walks.

Game two would result in a New Deal win, 19-4.

Sundown would score four runs on five hits, and would commit two errors, while New Deal would score 19 runs on 15 hits, and would commit an error.

Roughneck Rayden Flores would get the start and the loss for Sundown throwing three complete innings. Flores would allow 17 earned runs on 13 hits, four strikeouts and four walks. Marco Landa would throw an inning in relief, allowing just one hit with two strikeouts. Issac Lopez would finish the game allowing two earned runs on one hit, and one walk.
