They Smyer Bobcats hosted the Smyer Bobcat Invitational and hosted teams from around the area such as Anton, Christ the King, Crosbyton, Farwell, Lazbuddie, Lubbock Christain, Meadow, O’Donnell, Post, Seagraves, Tahoka and Whitharral.
For the boys team, only three boys participated this meet as all three boys did excellent taking three of the top four spots in the entire meet.
The best runner for the team was Micah Zapata with a time of 16:21 taking first place. His teammate Izzy (Ismael) Pizano was right behind him taking second place with a time of 16:32, and their last teammate Austin Martinez took fourth place with a time of 16:59. The boys did amazing but didnt have enough runners to place so as it stands they did not place but the teams runners did amazing.
The girls team did well as they were able to place fourth out of the eight teams that placed.
The girls best runner of the day was Skylar Wiseman who finished in 12th place with a time of 13:50. Her teammates did well to as Adi Vega finished in 17th, Kira Posadas finished in 20th, Jada Hernandez finished in 21st, Ashtyn Burriss finished in 25th, Emily Rampy finished in 30th and Madelyne Brown finished in 61st.
The team did well and will hope to inprove throughout the season as it is coming to an end and district play will start soon for many of the teams in the area.
