The Smyer Bobcats hosted the Lockney Longhorns this past Tuesday where the team fell 4946.
The Bobcats were able to start the first half of the game strong as they had the narrow lead of 22-21 going into the break.
Brayden Wade was the teams leading scorer at the half as he had 13 points with 10 of them coming from inside the paint.
Going into the third quarter of the game though it would be Lockney to jump out into the lead by outscoring the Bobcats 12-to-8 and taking the lead by only three to start the fourth quarter. The score heading into the fourth was 33-30.
The fourth quarter was the closest quarter for both teams as neither one could outdo the other and both teams put up 16 points.
Smyer lost the close game and starts off their district opener with a hard loss.
The Bobcats wont play another game until next Thursday when they compete in the Caprock Tournament over a three day span.
