Smyer Girls Basketball

The Smyer Lady Cats took their skills on the road last Tuesday, earning a 74-47 UIL High School Girls’ Basketball win over the Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines.

“We came out hot and never looked back,” said Smyer Head Girls’ Basketball Coach Todd Nichols. “The girls showed up ready to play and showed their hard work paying off.”

Smyer jumped out to a 28-5 lead in the first quarter and were up 41-14 at halftime. They led 57-26 at the end of the third quarter.

Four Lady Cats were in double figures. Vannah Jourdan had 18 points. Maegan Smith had 17. Rylee Riedel and Jada Hernandez had 13 each.

Kira Posadas had six. Kaia Brandon had four. Dyamond Baker had two.

The Smyer girls will be in Loop at 11 a.m. on Monday.
