Sundown falls to Andrews

The Sundown Roughnecks faced off against the Andrews Mustangs for the teams first game of the Littlefield Tournament throughout the week.

To start out the game the Roughnecks came out flat-footed as they were outscored 15-to-2 after the first quarter due to their lackluster offense.

The Roughnecks were able to get things going in the second quarter as they would outscore the Mustangs 8-to-7 and cut the Andrews lead to 12 points.

In the second half of the game Sundown would try their hardest to claw their way back into the game but would fall short as they would be outscored in the second 34-to-20, leading to their downfall.

The Roughnecks struggled as none of the players on the team had double digit points.

Although none of them had double digits three of the Roughnecks had eight points, including Branson Sanders, Kye Powell and Watson Evans. Briar Miller finished with four on the night and Caleb Clausen had two to finish off his night as well.

The Roughnecks shot the ball from the field at 32% while shooting 59% from the free throw line.

Sundown was outrebounded by the Mustangs 33-to-25 in the game and was able to force 16 turnovers while giving the ball up another 22 times of their own.
