The Whiteface Antelopes came on strong in the fourth quarter of a tight home game against the Sundown Roughnecks for a 45-33 UIL District 5-2A high school boys’ basketball win last Friday.
Sundown led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, then hit four treys in the second quarter to take a 27-25 lead into halftime.
The Whiteface defense put them in the lead 36-32 after three quarters, then held the Roughnecks to a single freethrow in the fourth.
Isaak Soliz had 11 points to lead the Antelopes. Ethan Kauffman and Jeremiah Rendon had 10 each.
Ivaniel Gandara and Cesar Chavez had five each and Auscar Gandara had four.
Isaiah Igo led the Roughnecks with 11 points.
Briar Miller had eight points. Kye Powell had seven points.
Nathan McAdams had four points. Nathan Flores had two points and Isaac Lopez had a freethrow.
The Antelopes will be in Seagraves on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
The Roughnecks will host Ropes on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
