Whiteface Antelopes fall to undefeated Plains Cowboys

    The Whiteface Antelopes couldn’t overcome an early run by the visiting Plains Cowboys, falling 64-36 in UIL District 5-2A action last Friday.

    Scoring started slow with both teams tied at one each at the 5:24 mark.

    Jeremiah Rendon hit a basket to put Whiteface up 3-1, then Plains took off on a 16-2 run over the rest of the quarter.

    The second quarter ended with the Cowboys up 36-11. Whiteface rallied in the third, but it wasn’t enough as the Antelopes trailed 48-27.

    Rendon had 16 points. Cesar Chavez had 10. Ethan Kauffman and Auscar Gandara had four each. Jaxon Hodge had two.

    The Antelopes will finish the regular season in Morton on Friday at 6:15 p.m.
