The Whitharral Lady Panthers took on the Anton Lady Bulldogs this past Friday on the road where they won 69-13.
The first quarter of the game was all Whitharral as they were able to take a 24 point lead in the first due to them holding the Lady Bulldogs to no points in the first quarter.
The second quarter was more of the same story as Anton was only able to put up one point in the first half while Whitharral was able to get another 14 to fall for them in the second quarter of play.
The score at the halftime break was Whitharral leading Anton 40-1.
Leading Anton in scoring was Miliana Castillo who had one point at the half due to her hitting one out of two free throws.
For Whitharral the leading scorers at the half were Lady Panthers Madi Chavez and Paige Smith who both had 12 points a piece at the half.
Headed into the third quarter of play the Lady Panthers wouldnt let off the gas as they put up another 18 points in the third quarter while holding the Lady Bulldogs to five points.
For the final quarter of the game Anton would score the most points they had all game as they were able to put up another seven points while allowing the Lady Panthers another 13 points in the game.
Leading the team in scoring for Anton was Lady Bulldog Alexis Hoover as she had 12 points at the end of the game with six of them coming from beyond the arch.
The only other Lady Bulldog that was able to score was Miliana Castillo who had one point in the second quarter of play.
For the Whitharral Lady Panthers, leading the team in scoring was Smith as she had 25 points with 10 of them coming from the third quarter of play.
Chavez was able to finish with 16 more points on the night, Avery McCain had nine, Rylee Kristinek had eight, Trinity Coronado had five, Tyler Parkinson had three and Elizabeth Reyan finished with two on the night.
The Whitharral Lady Panthers progressed to 20-3 on the season while still undefeated in district play going 5-0.
For the Anton Lady Bulldogs they will fall to 4-10 on the year while going 1-3 in district play sitting in fifth place.
The Anton Lady Bulldogs next game of district play will be against the Meadow Lady Broncos at home at 6:15 p.m.
For the Whitharral Lady Panthers their next game of the season will be against the Seagraves Lady Eagles this Friday at home at 6:00 p.m.
