Whitharral Lady Panthers remain undefeated in district

The Whitharral Lady Panthers continue their hotstreak as they beat the Amherst Lady Bulldogs this past Friday night on the road 71-17 to remain undefeated in district play.

The first quarter of the game started with the Lady Panthers taking a 15-point lead over Amherst as they outscored them 19-4.

In the second quarter of the game Whitharral kept it going on offense as they scored another 18 points while holding the Lady Bulldogs to five points, making the score 37-9 at the half.

Paige Smith led the Whitharral Lady Panthers in scoring at the halftime break with 18 points, nine of those points in the second quarter.

The third quarter is where the Lady Panthers had their best scoring output as they scored 23 points while still holding Amherst to three points making the score 60-12 going into the final quarter of action.

For the fourth quarter the Lady Panthers put the game to bed as they still outscored them 11-5 to take the district win and remain undefeated.

Smith led Whitharral in scoring with 31 points in their contest. Madi Chavez had another 17 points, Rylee Kristinek had 10 points, Valeria Frias and Noeli Reyna both had four points a piece, Sheridan Neal had three points and Denae Sansom had two points in the teams win.

The Lady Panthers progress to 15-7 on the season as they still are undefeated in district play with a 3-0 record. Whitharral will get ready to take on the Anton Lady Bulldogs this Friday on the road at 6 p.m.
