The Whitharral Panthers hosted the Meadow Broncos this past Tuesday night for district play where the Panthers won in a blowout 75-16.
The start of the game it was Whitharral off to a flaming start as they were able to score 32 points in the first quarter while they held Meadow to just three points, taking a 29-point lead going into the second quarter.
The second quarter had the Panthers extending their lead as they held the Broncos scoreless in the second while adding another 14 points of their own, making the score 46-3 at the half.
Nate Sansom led the Panthers in scoring at the half with 12 points, 10 of them from underneath the basket.
In the third quarter, Meadow was able to get seven points off of the Panther defense while putting up another 18 points of their own to make the score 64-10 going into the fourth quarter.
For the final quarter of action, Whitharral outscored the Broncos 9-6 to take the big district win 75-16.
Three Panthers finished in double digits with Brent Robinson leading the team in scoring with 21 points, Jack Griffin with 15 points and Sansom with another 15 points. Damian Rodriguez had six points, Dawson Rodgers, Brolin Kennedy and Daniel Rodriguez all had five points a piece and Hudson Dobrovolny finished with three points.
The Whitharral Panthers progress to 12-6 on the season as they remain undefeated in district play with a 2-0 record. The Panther next game of the season is against the Wellman Union Wildcats this Friday on the road at 7:30 p.m.
