Levelland Lobos fall to Estacado Matadors

The Levelland Lobos suffered a district road loss on Wednesday to the Estacado Matadors this past Wednesday, 10-3.

SPC Texan Malique Ewin named 1st team All-American

Malique Ewin of the South Plains College Texans has been named NJCAA Division I First Team All-American.Ewin a Sophomore Forward for the Texans averaged 14.9 points per game over the span of 34 games on the season. He would shoot 62.6% from the field and a free throw percentage of 59.2%.

Levelland Track battles during district meet

The Levelland Track and Field team competed in San Angelo for the last district meet this past Wednesday and Thursday where the girls team placed fourth in district and the boys team placed second.The team had many athletes move onto Area for the Lobos and Loboettes.

SPC Track dominates in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO — The South Plains College men’s and women’s track and field teams posted six event titles Saturday at the Angelo State David Noble Relays at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.Top Marks: Men’s 400 meters: Gregory Prince went 46.93 to take the top spot.

Loboette Softball sweep Lady Matadors

The Levelland Loboettes traveled to Lubbock to take on the Estacado Lady Mats in UIL District Softball Action where the Loboettes won 12-2.

Roughettes take down Sudan Lady Nettes in series

The Sundown Roughettes took on the Sudan Lady Nettes last Monday and this past Saturday where the Roughettes swept the series to remain undefeated in district play.Sundown 14, Sudan 3Sundown’s first matchup against Sudan was last Monday where the team won 14-3 at home.

Smyer falls to New Home

The Smyer Bobcats took on the New Home Leopards this past Saturday for UIL District Baseball play where the Bobcats fell 20-1 as the visiting team.Smyer struggled to stop the Leopard offense all game as in the bottom of the first inning, New Home jumped out to an early 9-0 lead over the Bobcats.
