Joe, Aggie Birdwell trust endows SPC scholarship

LEVELLAND – The committee for the Joe and Aggie Birdwell Endowment Trust authorized Prosperity Bank as trustee to make a $10,000 distribution to the South Plains College Foundation for the creation of the Joe and Aggie Birdwell Scholarship Endowment.

SPC fall enrollment increases

LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s total enrollment in Fall 2025 increased by 4.3 percent from last fall.On a daily comparison, Fall 2025 enrollment is at 9,490, while Fall 2024 enrollment reached 9,098.The number of Levelland students enrolled at SPC has increased from last fall.

SPC, Texas Tech alumni associations hosts tailgate September 13

The alumni associations of South Plains College and Texas Tech will host a tailgate before Tech’s football game against Oregon State University on Sept. 13. The tailgate will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion on the Tech campus and will remain open throughout the game.

NorthSide Church of Christ celebrated it’s 70th anniversary this past Sunday. The planning stage for Northside began in 1950 to serve as the gathering place for the Black members to worship. The building was completed and opened for worship in 1955.
