Sponsor Scott Lawson shares that he took the Student Council to the District 5 Conference for Student Councils in the area last week. At the conference, our student council served as one of the officer schools and helped lead several activities and projects.

The Texas A&M Forest Service and its investigators have concluded that power lines ignited both the Smokehouse Creek fire and the Windy Deuce fire.The Smokehouse Creek Fire has burned nearly 1,700 square miles and worked its way into Oklahoma.

SPC to host second-annual songwriting competition Apr. 4

For aspiring songwriters in the West Texas area, South Plains College’s Commercial Music Department will host its secondannual Songwriting Competition at 7 p.m. on April 4 at the Tom T. Hall Production Studio in the Creative Arts Building on campus.

SPC Groove Day featuring John JR Robinson slated April 6

The South Plains College Commercial Music Department will host its second-annual Groove Day, featuring the world’s most recorded drummer, John JR Robinson.The event will begin at 10 a.m. on April 6 at the Tom T. Hall Production Studio in the Creative Arts Building on campus.
