SPC student musician receives scholarship from international percussive society

South Plains College commercial music student Casin Peek is a recipient of a 2025 scholarship from the Percussive Arts Society, the world’s largest percussion organization that supports percussionists and drummers of all ages.

Earlier in October, the Ropesville Volunteer Fire Department faced a significant challenge when its sole fire engine was unexpectedly removed from service due to a catastrophic mechanical failure during a fire response.

Imagine enduring 13 miles of mud and uphill terrain while encountering obstacles along the way like a 6 foot wall or crawling through barbed wire. That was the reality for Levellands’ very own Katie Ervin while she took on the SPARTAN course.
