Cotton scouting school scheduled for surrounding counties

The Texas AgriLife Extension office will be hosting IPM Cotton Scouting & Mapping Clinic Series for Hockley, Cochran and Lamb Counties IPM Program. These programs are opportunities to learn or refresh how to scout for pests and how to map the cotton plant.

Chamber lists May events, meetings

The Levelland Chamber of Commerce lists several meetings and events for the month of May. Worley Welding Commercial Paper Shredding will have a ribbon cutting Tuesday, May 2, from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at 610 Houston St. The Chamber Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 3, from 11:45 a.

Local churches announce plans for upcoming Easter services

Local churches are planning to celebrate Easter with Maunday Thursday, Good Friday and Easter services this week. First Assembly of God Church, located at 709 9th Street, will be celebrating Easter Sunday, April 9, with a pancake breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Pantry open seeks donations

The Austin Street Church of Christ food pantry is still open in spite of the shortages from the South Plains Food Bank. “We haven’t been able to get anything but canned goods from the South Plains Food Bank for some time,” said Minister Jay Kelley.
