SPC’s Kappa Mu Chapter inducts 55

South Plains College’s Kappa Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recently inducted 55 new members during a ceremony in the Sundown Room. The ceremony marked the first induction since 2019.

SANTA CAME TO TOWN!

The City of Whiteface and the Whiteface Volunteer Fire Department recently had special guest Mr. Santa Claus at the Whiteface gazebo to visit and hand out toys to children. The event included Whiteface third and fourth grade students from Mrs. Driver’s class singing Christmas songs.

Sundown Theater to present West Texas Premiere The Lightning Theif: The Percy Jackson Musical

Sundown Theatre will present the musical “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” December 15, 17 and 18, at the Sundown ISD Auditorium. Based on the popular YA Fiction Series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” by Rick Riordan.

Community-wide caroling scheduled December 17

Members of the community are invited to join a Community-Wide Caroling, to be held Saturday, December 17, around Levelland. Those who would like to participate will need to meet at 1:30 p.m.

SPC hosts Fest Week

South Plains College’s Creative Arts department will host Fest Week through Thursday, December 8, in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. The public is invited to attend, and there is no admission charge. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. daily with the shows starting at 5 p.m.

Salvation Army seeks Red Kettle bell ringers

The annual Salvation Army Red Kettle season will be kickingoff this year beginning Tuesday, November 29 through Thursday, December 15. Bell ringers will be ringing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Walmart, with nine days to choose from to volunteer.

SPC Theatre presents Chuckwagon Madrigal Dec. 1-3 in Sundown Room

South Plains College’s Fine Arts and Theatre departments will host a Chuckwagon Madrigal at 6:30 p.m. from December 1 through December 3, in the Sundown Room. The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the service and show to begin at 6:30 p.m.
