Paxton secures $150M settlement against 23andMe

Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a settlement of bankruptcy claims against 23andMe, which helps resolve issues stemming from a 2023 data breach that compromised the genetic data of 6.9 million customers worldwide.The settlement includes $150 million for a multistate coalition of 42 states.

Texas hospital investigated for “anchor baby” advertising

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered an investigation into a hospital near the Mexican border over concerns it was selling a path to American citizenship through childbirth packages that exploit citizenship and state health services.
HOCKLEY SENIOR CITIZEN BINGO - Hockley County Senior Citizens Association reported a big turnout at the Bingo Night Fundraiser on July 13. Bingo Night is held every second Monday with lots of food, prizes and games. All money earned from selling food and cards at the door goes directly to the local senior center. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to join the fun.
