Mexico sues U.S. over deportation operations

Mexico's government announced legal action against the United States over a surge in deaths of Mexican nationals in U.S. immigration custody and during enforcement raids. Officials have also sent cease-anddesist letters to U.S. detention facilities where Mexican nationals have died.

Hegseth mandates testosterone screening of service members

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a screening for service member’s testosterone levels and offering testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to keep troops on the leading edge of lethality.

Texas weather, drought affecting crops

The 2025-2026 Texas wheat season was characterized by drought and heat stress as well as viral and fungal infections across the state, according to a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service specialist.

Texas A&M Forest Service purchases wildland firefighting aircraft

Texas A&M Forest Service is building a statemanaged fleet of wildland firefighting aircraft, beginning with the purchase of two SUBARU Bell 412EPX helicopters.The first aircraft is expected to be delivered in December 2027, with the second to follow three to six months later.

Levelland Parks offer recreation, relaxation

When there isn’t much going on, Levelland parks provide recreational opportunities to beat midsummer boredom. The Parks Department oversees, constantly maintains and improves these opportunities.“We have something for everybody,” Director of Parks and Cemetery Dustin Reichelt said.

House votes to make daylight saving permanent

The House of Representatives passed a bill that would make daylight saving time permanent throughout the United States The bill, called the Sunshine Protection Act, must now be approved by the Senate before it can become law.
