The 286TH District Attorney’s Office today announced that Angel Moreno Chavez, a 50-yearold resident of Levelland, has been sentenced to 15 years in the Texas Department of Public Safety, Institutional Division, following a conviction for sexual assault of a child.

Governor Greg Abbott has sent a letter to all Texas universities and colleges halting increases in undergraduate tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year.“I directed all public institutions of higher learning in Texas to freeze undergraduate tuition and fees,” Abbott said in his letter.
