EMPLOYEE OFTHEYEARAWARD - During the City of Levelland’s Employee Appreciation Banquet, Thalia Guerrero presented the Employee of the Year Award. The recipient of the award was LPD’s Captain Mateo Lopez. Guerrero shared the positive impact Lopez has had on her throughout the past year as she has undergone an internship with the department. GRIT AWARD- During the City of Levelland’s Employee Appreciation Banquet, City Manager James Fisher presented the GRIT Award. The award recognizes a department or group of employees that have shown “true grit”. ROOKIE OFTHEYEARAWARD - The City of Levelland held its 55th annual Employee Appreciation Banquet Thursday at the Mallet Event Center and Arena. During the awards portion of the event, Diana Romo presented the Rookie of the Year Award which was presented to Sam Gomez. The Rookie of the Year Award is a new addition to the banquet’s award selection and will be continued moving forward. Pictured is City Manager James Fisher alongside Gomez and Romo. VEHICLE COLLISION - The Levelland Police Department (LPD), Levelland Fire Department (LFD) and Levelland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the 200 block of Austin Street Friday around noon after a report of a two vehicle collision.
